PORT MOUTON - Queens District RCMP say they’ve been ticketing illegal parkers at Carters Beach and will continue to do so.

Police have issued 17 parking tickets since July 16, says a news release from RCMP Staff Sgt. Paul MacDougall.

“Tickets have been issued to vehicle owners parked illegally along the east sie of Carters Beach Road,” he said.

Police have issued 17 parking tickets since July 16, says a news release from RCMP Staff Sgt. Paul MacDougall.

“Tickets have been issued to vehicle owners parked illegally along the east sie of Carters Beach Road,” he said.

He said RCMP are conducting random patrols along with responding to complaints to ensure there is enough room for emergency vehicles to be able to respond to calls for assistance at the beach.

Fines could range from $15 to $400.

There are six no parking signs posted along the east side of the road, which MacDougall said are readily visible.

“Traffic is impeded when vehicles are parked along both sides of the road and the remaining lane becomes noticeably narrowed and restricted,” he said.
