More than 70 artists take part in Paint the Town August 18 and 19

More than 70 artists packed their paints, brushes, canvases, paper, and talent and unloaded the lot in Annapolis Royal August 18 and 19 to Paint the Town. The annual art event fundraiser for the Annapolis Royal Community Arts Council didn’t seem to suffer from the rain Sunday as artists crammed into nooks and crannies to stay dry and perhaps came up with new perspectives for their work.

Artists worked in various mediums and styles, offering up a variety from traditional to contemporary in oils, watercolour, acrylic, and other mediums.

Historic Gardens, Fort Anne, and the wharf were perhaps the most popular spots, for painting, but by the end of each day, all works were brought back to the Legion where they were auctioned off between 5 and 6 p.m.
