LETTER: A bridge too far?

The walls of stupidity are still standing. What is wrong with “cross at your own risk?”

Then they proceeded to say that they had seriously considered a space in Stratford, but the results of a survey they had carried out before closing the shop here showed that the majority of responders would not go across the Hillsborough bridge to shop.

I am at a loss to understand this reasoning. The majority of home sewers would rather pay bridge fees and gas, along with driving two hours each way than cross the Hillsborough bridge for free? Should we not be encouraging businesses to remain here on the Island?
