Two people arrested in Queens County drug bust

MIDDLEFIELD – Police arrested two people in Queens County as part of an Oct. 26 drug bust.
Members of the Queens District RCMP, with assistance from Shelburne Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) and Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia (CISNS) searched a home on Highway 8 in Middlefield as part of an ongoing investigation.
As a result of the search, police seized a quantity of processed marijuana.
A 42-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested at the scene without incident. They were released from custody later that day.
Both are scheduled to appear in Bridgewater provincial court on Dec. 13 and are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and production of a controlled substance.
The investigation is ongoing.
