South Shore Mustangs take three weekend points

The South Shore Mustangs played two strong games against Cape Breton opponents and came away with a win and a shoot-out loss.

On Saturday (Nov. 24) night, in Bridgewater, Ryan Nickerson set up three goals to pace the Mustangs to a 4-2 win over Cape Breton West. Chris Hersey turned aside 19 shots to pick up the win.

Summary: Ryan Getson from Nickerson and Shayn McGrath; David Wilband from Nickerson and Andrew Morrison; Morrison from Nickerson; Jack Strowbridge from Reggie Deveau.

On Sunday, in Chester, Jack Strowbridge led the Mustang offence with a pair of goals, the game tying marker coming with just over four minutes left in the game. The two teams played a scoreless overtime period before Cape Breton Tradesmen netted the shoot-out winner.

Summary: Strowbridge from Jacob Conrad; Reggie Deveau from Dylan Saulnier and Ryan Getson; Mark Phillips from Ryan Nickerson and Dylan Saulnier; Strowbridge unassisted. Chris Hersey turned aside 33 shots in the Mustang net.
