By Leanne Delong THE ADVANCE NovaNewsNow.com Queens County Soccer Association president, Ken Cameron wants to stress the importance of signing up on registration dates that will be announced at the organization’s April 11 annual general meeting.

Cameron says a couple teams were left without enough players last season because some children and youth signed up too late.

The meeting will be held 7 p.m. in room 30 at South Queens Junior High School. New officers will be elected.

The Queens County Soccer Association has soccer teams for children under six, eight and 10 in the mini Category and for youth under 12, 14, and 16 in the youth category; registration may be available this year for youth under 18 as well. "Soccer is awesome; it's the biggest growing sport in North America," said Cameron.

The Queens County Soccer Association has between 180 and 200 youth sign up each year that form about one team per age group.

The general meeting is for the whole program plus parents, Cameron added.

He also stated he would be willing to step down if anyone is interested in taking over as president.

Cameron has been president of the association for the past six years.
