LRHS hosting regionals

On Feb. 2nd the Liverpool Regional High School Lady Warriors travelled to Forest Heights for the first match up of the season. By the first half ended with the ladies down by five, and in the second half saw time and time again the team's inability to rise above obstacles to match the other squad. The score ended 89 to 54 for the Falcons.

This loss set up a final run that was not going to be easy. The Falcons travelled to Liverpool on the 8th for the second match up where they saw a much more prepared and determined home team. At the end of the half Liverpool was up by 17 and finished out the game with a win by a score of 79 to 70. This began a race to host Regionals, which was exiting right to the end.

Yarmouth went on to split with Forest Heights making the final game between the Yarmouth Vikings and the Liverpool Warriors to determine first place and the opportunity to host the Western Regional Championship. That game was held on Feb 12th in Yarmouth.

The first half ended with the Warriors down by five because of a poor effort on the boards and an inability to stop the break. Although the Vikings lead rose to 9 early in the second half, the team put together a final quarter of their season with an almost perfect shooting percentage for the final 3 minutes. High scorers for Liverpool were Chelsea Whalen with 33 and Sarah Smith, 22. The Regionals will run from Feb. 18 - 20 at LRHS. The teams will be Northeast Kings, Middleton and Central Kings for the Valley while Liverpool, Forest Heights and Yarmouth will be representing the South Shore.

8:30 PM Loser of game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 for western 5 and 6 (game 3)

Friday Feb 19th

5:00 PM Winner game 1 vs. Valley #1 (NEKEC) (game 4)

7:00PM Winner game 2 vs South Shore #1 (Liverpool) (game 5)

Saturday Feb 20th

12:00 PM Consolation – Loser game 4 vs. Loser Game 5 Winner advances to provincials

2:00 PM Final – Winner game 4 vs. Winner game 5
