The ladies faced Park View Junior Varsity in their first game. This was a chance for the starters to let others get some good experience. The final score ended in favour of the Warriors 63 to 30. Chelsea Whalen led all scorers with 25 while Katie Morash picked up player of the game.
Next they faced the Shelburne Rebels when they started out strong, but were unable to match the full game intensity falling short 69 to 61. Whalen led scorers again with 27 while Kelsey MacKenzie added 13. Sarah Smith picked up player of the game.
The next day the Warriors faced a well-rounded squad from Springhill. Early in the game the ladies were holding their own through good defense and executing their offence but foul trouble and pressure on the ball were more than the ladies could handle. The final score ended 78 to 55 in Springhill’s favour. Chelsea Whalen, who was player of the game, led with 23 while MacKenzie added 21.
The final game was against the home squad, New Germany. Although Liverpool jumped out to an early lead of 16 to 2 in the first quarter, they were unable to keep executing and struggled to a 62-54 victory. Whalen netted 16 while Sarah Smith and Lindsay Ingram had 15 and 14. Kelsey MacKenzie received player of the game.
Springhill walked away with first place while Chelsea Whalen received tournament all-star for Liverpool.
