Blair Davis, a member of the FPMB said about 20 people showed up at the meeting in Port Mouton.
They reviewed the scientific findings they have at this point, he explained.
Another seabed drifter was found on Summerville Beach at the beginning of August, proving that the nature of the bay shifts seasonally, which they suspected, said Davis.
He said the group will continue to comb the shorelines, recording and identifying anything unusual.
The Friends of Port Mouton Bay science team has also been exploring the ocean bottom, he stated.
The ocean floor on the current proposed site is healthy as opposed to the ocean floor below the current fish farm in Port Mouton, he said.
He added the “meeting was to bring the members of the committee up to speed and chart a course for future actions.”
Davis wants anyone wishing to join the Friends of Port Mouton Bay volunteer group to call Darlene Norman at 683-2530 or visit www.friendsofportmoutonbay.ca.
