Several hundred people came through the door that night, giving donations, bidding on silent auction items and stopping by the mocktail lounge for a drink.
When it was all tallied up, the total brought in that evening was $2,224.35, going past what the group made at last year's event.
As for the game, the Bisons ended their two game losing streak against the home team, taking the game 8-5.
Some of the members of the Bisons could not make the game that night, including coach and Queens Detachment Commander Staff Sgt. Jeff Well, because they were in Woods Harbour working on the missing fishermen case. Last week five fishermen were lost in heavy seas, and no survivors were found. A moment of silence was held in remembrance.
A moment of silence was also held for those who have lost loved ones because of drunk drivers. Drunk Driving is the leading criminal cause of death in Canada, which MADD strives to change.
Money from the event goes back into MADD’s expenses including their main project, an educational video and multi-media presentation. Donations also go to Teens Against Drunk Driving to help sponsor their events.
