Her sister Jill Mouzar was on a national championship team that placed second in the world. Her oldest sister once placed fourth at the nationals as well.
Soon after the victory, Fralic, who is Lead, said, “We’re all very excited. It's kind of overwhelming right now."
Her CFB Halifax club teammates are Jane Snyder, Tanya Hilliard, and Marie Christianson.
Fralic said Team Christianson and Team (Danielle) Parsons have been trading wins throughout the curling season and therefore, as expected, the championship game was a nail biter.
Christianson had to draw to the four foot around two stones on her final shot in the tenth end to win 8-7.
Fralic said before the final end Team Parsons earned two to tie the game.
In the tenth, she said, "She (Christianson) had to draw to the four-foot and touch the button. And she did it. It was the most intense moment. I don’t think I took a single breath the whole time it was going along the house."
They are now heading to the nationals, which start Jan. 31 in Salmon Arm, BC. "It’s every junior team's dream to go to the nationals and it's a real honour to go to the nationals representing Nova Scotia," Fralic said. "Hopefully we'll do well and come back as Canadian champions but I just want to do really well."
This was Fralic's third straight year at the provincials. Her team placed third last year and second the year before. "We actually lost to my skip that I have now. It's kind of weird how it all worked out."
Fralic started at the Liverpool Curling Club and remains "very good friends" with many of the girls she used to play with. She plans to continue curling in the foreseeable future.
Her parents are Giffie Fralic and Kathy Jollimore of Brooklyn. Fralic is in Halifax Regional Municipality taking her Bachelor of Arts at Mount Saint Vincent University. She plans to get her Education degree and work with children with disabilities.
