Skaters from the Queens County Blades Skating Club represented their club and community well at the recent Nova Scotia STARSkate Provincials held in Truro on February 19th to 21st.
Kieran Clattenburg coached by Heidi Clattenburg-Sparkes placed 2nd in the Senior Bronze Women's Short Program and 3rd in the Freeskate Program. Taygan Fancy, also coached by Clattenburg-Sparkes placed 7th in a strong PeeWee B Girls category. Skaters coached by Tammy Hyland-Burton of Timberlea and Marci Elliott of Lunenburg had personal best showings as well. Kate Inglis topped 2nd place in Preliminary Group #1 and Alyssa Walsh placed 3rd in Preliminary Group #5 and just out of the medals for a 4th place finish in the Pre-Introductory Interpretive category. Lauren Amirault placed 5th in her Pre-Preliminary Group #1 skate and skater Victoria Hopper who is new to QCB placed 10th in Pre-Preliminary Group #4. Chloé Pitre had a 5th placing in the Senior Bronze Women's Short Program and placed 1st in the Senior Bronze Freeskate Program.
Congratulations Skaters! The Blades are now preparing for their annual Ice Show, "This is It", which will be held on March 21st at Queens Memorial Arena.
