On the 29th of May, shortly after supper, Police arrested a 22 yr old male at gunpoint on Brunswick Street in Liverpool after receiving a complaint that the male was concealing a weapon in the waistband of his pants. During the arrest there was no weapon found on him, however he did turn over a pellet pistol that he had stored in the trunk of his vehicle. The investigation showed that there was insufficient evidence to prove an offence had been committed and the pellet pistol was seized for destruction.
On the 29th of May Police responded to a disturbance on Main Street in Liverpool. A 19 year old male was arrested and lodged in cells when he was found in violation of his undertaking not to possess or consume alcohol. He has been charged with breach of undertaking with a court date in the future.
On the 31st of May an 18 yr old male and 20 year old male were arrested in Liverpool when Police confronted them and found them to be under the influence of alcohol. Both were arrested and lodged in cells and released when sober. When released they were charged with underage drinking (18 yr old) and the other charged with being intoxicated in public.
A 59 year old male was arrested and charged with suspended driving when he was found operating a vehicle on Highway 8 in Kempt. The vehicle was towed by Police.
Two young females were arrested and charged for separate shoplifting offences in Liverpool during this reporting period. The investigations into these incidents are continuing.
It was a busy month at the “Crowbar Hotel” with 20 prisoners lodged in Police cells for various reasons during the month of May.
