Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament (MP) for South Shore-St. Margaret’s announced today, Nov. 15, support for Queens County Fairground improvements under the government of Canada’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

MP Keddy made the announcement in Caledonia on behalf of Bernard Valcourt, associate minister of National Defence and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency) (La Francophonie).

The federal government’s invest of $12,750 will assist with roof repairs on pavilion facilities and electrical systems upgrades.

In Economic Action Plan 2012, the government announced plans to further modernize Canada’s infrastructure by committing $150 million over two years for the CIIF. The CIIF supports projects that look to improve existing community infrastructure, such as community centres, recreational buildings, local arenas, cultural and other community facilities.

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency is delivering the CIIF in Atlantic Canada with an allocation  of $16.6 million over two years.
