*Corrected Dates* A preliminary inquiry date has been set for James Leopold, on charges of second-degree murder. However the date depends on a decision to move the case to Bridgewater, taking place at the end of the month.

Leopold is charged with the murder of Laura Lee Robertson of Liverpool, stemming from her disappearance on April 14. Leopold was arrested on April 26, and Robertson’s remains were found just outside of Greenfield off Highway 208 the next morning.

Leopold did not appear in court on June 1, instead his lawyer acted on his behalf and asked for preliminary inquiry dates for July.

If the inquiry is held in Bridgewater, it will take place on July 28 and 29. If it is moved to Liverpool, it will take place on July 21 and 22.

Judge Gregory Lenehan set aside both dates for the trial, and also set a focus hearing for June 30 at 9:30 a.m. in Bridgewater, to decided which facility is best to hold the case.

“There have been some issues raised on the logistics given the notoriety of the case, and that’s something the courts will look into,” said Judge Lenehan.

Leopold will remain in custody unless he applies for a bail hearing. So far, no bail hearing motion has been brought forward.
