A Queens County man has plead guilty to a charge of luring a child. Richard Austin Maclean of Greenfield appeared in Halifax Provincial Court last week to answer to the charges stemming from 2009.

Maclean made contact with an undercover police officer posing as a 15-year-old year via the Internet between Oct. 14 and Nov. 1 of last year. He was later arrested in Halifax where he had arranged to meet her.

Maclean was released on the condition he not be within 50 metres of where children gather, such as schools and parks, not use a computer or mobile device that can connect to the internet or go to any establishment that allows computer access.

Maclean’s sentencing will take place Nov. 1 in Halifax.
