The Friends of Hank Snow Society of Liverpool, Nova Scotia, are pleased to announce this year’s 22nd Annual Hank Snow Tribute, Aug. 16-19, 2012, at the Bridgewater Exhibition grounds, for the final time before the festival moves home to Queens County in 2013. The Hank Snow Tribute is held each year by the Society in honour of Canada’s King of Classic Country Music, and international recording star, Hank Snow.

The festival organizers are excited to welcome back two very special guests once again this year, Roger Carroll and Kayton Roberts, Hank Snow’s two remaining members of his Rainbow Ranch Boys. Other special guests include Shadow River and Eight Wheel Drive for a special bluegrass-themed opening evening on Thursday. Look forward to more great talent all weekend, including Ben Stillwater of Osseo, WI; Evelyn MacCrae of Troy, NS; Matt Balsor & Straight Out of Coldbrook, NS, new Hall of Famer Bonnie Rairdon of Waterville, NB; Touch of Sno of Salmon Arm, BC; Gilles Plante of Repentigny, QC; Kevin Rowsell of Torbay, NL; and more. Over these four days, 40 bands will be hitting the stage.

Also planned is an Open Mic contest, with the winner (voted on by the audience) winning a prime spot on next year’s Tribute at the brand new Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool. Saturday will host the popular Sounds Like Hank and Guitar Pickin’ contests, along with the Song Writer’s Circle hosted by Joyce Seamone. Best Dressed Group and Individual will be awarded daily, and the weekend will end on Sunday with the Big Jam.

“2012 marks the final year for the Tribute at the Bridgewater Exhibition grounds; it has been a great 15 years at this location,” says Charlotte White, Chair of the special Relocation Committee. “But we are looking forward to having the 2013 Tribute back home in Queens County, so stay tuned on what great new events will take place!”

Annual proceeds from the Hank Snow Tribute help finance the Hank Snow Home Town Museum in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. If you’d like further information, please contact Kelly at the Hank Snow Home Town Museum at 1-888-450-5525 or by email at info@hanksnow.com.
