Lighting up the shore

This weekend things will be a bit brighter in Liverpool. Fort Point Lighthouse is celebrating Lights along the Shore, a festival that lighthouses around the province are taking part in.

Guided Historic Walking Tour

Fort Point and Fort Point Lighthouse Park

1 p.m. – Meet at the Fort Point Lighthouse Park

A walk through our past…come and join our costumed interpreter for an historic stroll and learn about our diverse history and heritage homes along the way.  Your experience will end with a guided tour of the original 1855 Fort Point Lighthouse.  The duration of the tour is approximately 1 hour.  Please wear comfortable footwear and dress for the weather.  Donations Appreciated.  

 

Self-Guided Fort Point Lighthouse Park Tour

10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

 

Bring your family and friends and enjoy the Fort Point Lighthouse Park at your leisure.  This original 1855 lighthouse, the province’s 3rd oldest surviving lighthouse, is sure to please visitors of all ages!  The Fort Point Lighthouse contains an exhibit area with models, interpretive panels, audio-visual presentation, gift shop, and a hand-cranked working foghorn for visitors to experience!  Our costumed interpreters will share their love and knowledge of the lighthouse with you. Bring a picnic and enjoy one of our picnic tables or benches in the park…stay awhile!  Donations Appreciated.

Pie Social

2 p.m. until the pie is gone!

Meet at the Fort Point Lighthouse Park

Join us for an old-fashioned Pie Social at the Fort Point Lighthouse Park.  Choose your piece from a variety of locally crafted homemade pies and enjoy a refreshing glass of lemonade or iced tea.  Bring a picnic blanket or enjoy one of our picnic tables or benches in the park.  Remember to dress for the weather.  Cost per person is $5.
