Lanes Privateer Inn is bringing the best of two worlds for a weekend of bluegrass and blues on Feb. 1 and 2.

Modern Grass is one of the bands taking the stage this weekend for the Blues/Grass weekend at Lane's Privateer Inn.

This Lanes first Blues/Grass weekend and will be featuring several bands including Mermicorn, The Modern Grass, Matthew Hornell and The Sidemen.

The Sidemen features local Cameron Dexter. The band formerly was the house band at Bearlys House of Blues in Halifax.

Matthew Hornell’s event is family friendly so family’s can bring their children for lunch if they choose during that event.

The idea to have the weekend came about after Nova Scotia Music Week after Lanes hosted several musical events.

So many people enjoyed themselves at Nova Scotia Music Week, they wanted to do it again but in a less formal setting says Susan Lane, manager of Lane’s Privateer Inn.

The line-up is as follows:

Feb. 1, 8:30 p.m. - Mermicorn and the Modern Grass

Feb. 2, 3 p.m. - Matthew Hornell and the Modern Grass

Feb. 2, 8:30 p.m. - The Sidemen

Separate events are $10 at the door and a pass for the weekend is $25.

To reserve tickets call Lane’s Privateer Inn: 354 - 3456
