The holiday season in Queens County gets under way in the traditional fashion with the 81st Annual Kiwanis Community Christmas Concert on Dec. 2 at the Astor Theatre.

The annual Kiwanis concert returns to the Astor Theatre this Sunday.

Entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. with music by the Mersey Band. The concert itself gets under way at 7 p.m.

This year’s program features the Queens County Girls Choir directed by Kristopher Snarby. Also performing will be the Community Mass Choir of approximately 40 voices from Churches all over the Liverpool area with Shelly Gillis on the flute and directed by Ruth Ernst.

New this year will be a sister duo of Carolee Meintzer & Tina Quinn, Robin Whynot & Greg Tutty & Leslie Miller.

Returning this year is Kristopher Snarby, Breah Himmelman and father & son duo of Dick and Rick Henneberry.

Also returning again this year, by popular demand, is the duo pianos of Marie Ferguson and Lexie Morgan.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and are now on sale at the Astor Theatre at 354-5250.

Attendees are asked to please bring a non-perishable item for the food bank. Be sure to get your tickets early so as not to be disappointed.
