In Liverpool, they are playing Dec. 9 at Lane’s Privateer Inn starting at 6:30 p.m.
“The tour was booked with markets in mind,” violinist Donald MacLennan explains. “We chose where and when we play based on the market schedule through the province. This allows both a morning performance and an evening show in each community, giving us the chance to meet a diverse group of people in each area.”
The shows will feature a blend of Christmas favorites and bluegrass standards, as well as original material from their self‐titled album released earlier this year. The album was recently nominated for the Music Nova Scotia bluegrass/country album of the year. The Modern Grass will appear Dec. 16 on CBC’s “Information Morning” as house band for the annual Food Bank program, and will be featured on a presentation of CBC’s Canada Live in 2012.
