Five local musical groups are coming together this weekend for the first time, with a show that is sure to bring down the house. Best of all, the proceeds of the event will go towards the Children’s Wish Foundation.

The Liverpool Band Fest to be held at the Astor Theatre in Liverpool on Sunday Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. The hope is to make this the first band fest, with many more to come.

On stage all evening will be five lead singers of five popular Liverpool bands including: Dale Verge, Dave Burbine, Gary Young, Melinda Naugler & Wayne Snyder from the five bands – Doin’ Country, Traditional Country, New Edition, Bluestar & Restless Wind.

These five bands will be on stage all evening and there will be some great music on the stage at the Astor with members of all bands on stage off-and-on all evening. However all the lead singers will be together on stage all night long.

Admission for the musical extravaganza is $6

This event is a fundraiser for The Children's Wish Foundation, and representatives of that organization will be on hand all evening and will receive the monies raised just before the grand finale.

“This is such a great cause and some of the wishes granted are the last wishes some of these children will ever receive.  Some wishes are as simple as riding on a firetruck, to meeting their favourite hockey player and some even wish to go to Disney World....no wish is too simple or too grand,” says Vina Moses, one of the organizers of the event.

All groups taking part are donating their time and talent for the evening.  Cameron & Jean Dexter will host at the Astor and are donating their time to provide the sound for the evening.

There will be door prizes, a 50/50, and much more. The Children's Wish Foundation are very excited to be part of this historic event and will be bringing their balloons along for the occasion.
