(NC)—In a recent Angus-Reid survey, more than one in six Canadian adults (16 per cent) said they do not like milk. This poses a significant nutrition challenge. Canada's Food Guide recommends Canadian adults consume two to three servings of milk and alternatives every day, depending on their age and gender.

Dairy provides essential nutrients, such as vitamin D, calcium and protein. For those who do not like milk, finding the right 'alternative' is key. It's important to select a beverage that pleases the palette – and offers the health benefits of dairy.

The newest alternative to hit refrigerated cases at Canadian grocery stores is a chilled beverage called earthsown Almond Fresh. Fortified with essential nutrients including calcium, vitamins A and D, and naturally occurring antioxidant vitamin E, the subtle nutty flavour and creamy consistency of Almond Fresh has broad appeal, and offers a new way to meet important nutrition requirements. You can enjoy it on its own or even incorporate the beverage into your favourite recipes.
