There was a lot of smiling faces in the room on Jan. 22. The Region of Queens Municipality voted to move forward on Queens Place, and will go to tender in the spring.
“Today is the happy consequence of our community, our Council and our senior levels of government working together toward a common end,” said Mayor John Leefe. “Queens Place is all about building our capacity to assure a healthy physically active future for the Region.”
Council also approved the financing plan for Queens Place, and put to bed the fear Queens Place would increase the general tax rate.
