Dimestore Fishermen also filmed local attractions for the “How the heck do you get here?” portion of the show, which will promote and advertise tourism in Queens Co.

The Region of Queens’ Economic Development Department will also benefit from two five to seven minute high quality videos produced to promote the area. One will be geared to promoting tourism and the other will focus on business development and infrastructure such as Queens Place recreation centre. The Region can then use these videos to promote Queens to potential visitors, investors and new residents. “This is a great opportunity for us to send the message across North America that the Region of Queens is a great place to visit, live and invest,” said Mayor John Leefe. He added many businesses in the community supported these unique county guests.

While out on the water, Producer/Co-Host Jim Hoey and his team interviewed numerous people in the community, including Dr. Andy Blackadar, who talked about how Queens Co.’s quality of life continues to attract health professionals to the area at a time when other regions are experiencing shortages, Melissa Robinson, General Manager of Best Western Liverpool Hotel & Conference Centre, Liz Brown, co-owner of Woodpile Carvings and Café, Mayor Leefe, who spoke from the Rossignol Cultural Centre, Sherman Hines and Visitor Information Centre manager and community volunteer, Ann Langille, to name just some examples.

The volunteer guides that helped the crew could also appear on the show.

Region Economic Development Director, Jill Cruikshank, who followed much of the process, said, “Community support for the filming was magnificent. We really appreciate the participation of the local tourism industry to stage tourism experiences for the filming and also those community members who made themselves available for interview. I know Jim Hoey and his cameraman and Co-Host Warren Korzinski were very impressed with the hospitality extended and with the wonderful locations they visited in the Region during their week's stay.”
