The stones from the original fireplace at White Point Beach resort were handed out during the fireman’s breakfast on Jan. 28. Eighty-three stones were sold, raising about $3,400 for the Liverpool fire department. Peter and Joan Christie, regular visitors to White Point for over 20 years, bought five stones. They said some will go to their family, while the ones they will keep will become part of their garden.

Many things were lost during the fire at White Point Beach Resort, but among them was a very treasured and unique item. The White Point quilt hung in the main lodge for over 20 years, depicting scenes from around the resort area. However like the resort itself, the quilt too shall rise again.
